Search drives the web -- roughly two-thirds of website visitors originate from organic search. You’ve got to understand that authority, niche-specific and generic blogs that publish related content can do the same. Community hijacking involves finding online communities that are made up of your target market, or people that can reach your target market so that you can build a relationship with them and get them to promote your content/brand/product(s). The algorithms of search engines are always changing, and many web owners have suffered from various changes that are introduced by many popular search engines.

SEO does not happen in a bubble

A good place to look for keywords is your internal site search. Offering visitors a search box within your site is good for users but also good for you, because it collects search query data. One of the recommendations I frequently give as an SEO consultant is to optimize your images. A lot of websites have images that are relatively large, which take a lot of time to load. Resizing your images can speed up the loading time. Evergreen topics have long lasting value, so when looking at the trend, it should be pretty consistent throughout the year. Traditionally, these tend to be slightly more competitive, but have a much longer lifespan for being relevant. Measure everything about your content, aligning KPIs with your business goals and see how customers interact with your material.

Don’t forget to 301 redirect your old URLs

: Article marketing involves writing one unique article, and then rearranging the words to transform that one article into multiple versions. This rearranged article will then be placed on different, usually low-quality article sites with highly optimized anchor text links. Launching a new website without putting 301 redirects in place is literally committing SEO suicide. Not only will you lose all of your past SEO history, your rankings (and traffic!) will plummet. Always, ALWAYS 301 redirect your old site pages to your new ones to let Google know where your new content can be found. Just like writing any great content, you need to know your targeted audience pretty well in order to be successful. These are the people you know will be most interested in your service or product and will most likely convert into sales. People don’t read on the web; they scan. To make scanning easier, use plenty of clear and informative sub-headers to guide readers down a page.

Analyzing search engine indexing reports

Websites that continuously pour their heart and soul into all facets of SEO will perform better than competitor websites that do not. Seed keywords are the foundation of your keyword research. They define your niche and help you identify your competitors. Speaking from experience, I have often seen product manufacturers describe a product from their point of view. According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "In the past, commenting on blogs and forums solely for the sake of building links was the norm. The reality, however, is that many blogs and forums have little or no link value. Therefore, building links via this method will do nothing to boosting your website’s ranking."

Actively seeking links can and should penalize your website

Remember, the reason that website isn't bringing in customers is because you have given them no reason to come back. Long-tail keyword phrases are among the building blocks of an SEO strategy. They are used to optimize copywriting, metadata and link-building strategies. The page title is still one of the most important ranking factors for Google, so you have to make sure it’s optimized correctly for every page. This means adding the relevant keyword to each particular page and making sure that your page title isn’t too long. Make sure that your code is valid, in some instances bad code can lead to search engines not being able to properly read a page. Use the W3C validator to check your markup.
