When website copy contains a wider variety of terms and keywords all relative to the same topic, it appears more natural, resulting in higher rankings. The content flows naturally, more like a conversation you might have with someone. It’s no coincidence that the highest-volume keywords also tend to have the highest amount of competition, and of course, the higher the competition, the harder it’s going to be to rank for that keyword. Users don’t like to wait, and we are becoming more and more accustomed to the fast load times, which means your site will be left in the dust when a user must wait. With the increase in powers of content, the journey for internet marketing people has taken a knifelike turn. Not so long ago it might be comparatively easy for a marketer to secure his business in top search engine results.
Links are similar to glue
SEO practitioners, before deploying any given tactic, will ask first, “Will this increase my rank in the SERPs?” And if the answer appears to be yes, then the tactic is executed. When you delete one
or more posts or pages from your site, there’s often collateral damage. Think of Amazon. They probably have a few best-selling products, but the majority of their retail revenue comes from a wide variety of things that aren’t bought anywhere nearly as often as their best-selling products. Similarly, if we were to rank the popularity of the songs played in the last 10 years, there would be a few hits that would garner the majority of plays, and an enormous number of songs that have only a few plays. Those less popular products and songs are what we call the long tail. Another “old school” method of building up your backlinks is to make use of Forum Posting. It is a quick, easy and sometimes even fun way to get your links out and maybe even have someone directly click on them which is always a good thing.
Reasons for executing a domain migration
Trustworthy sites tend to link to other trusted sites, while spammy sites receive very few links from trusted sources. The search engines have
an enormous task: that of indexing the world’s online content—well, more or less. The reality is that they try hard to discover all of it, but they do not choose to index all of it. Google Webmaster Tools will inform you when there are technical problems with your website, if Google is having issues crawling your website, which keywords are bringing people to your website, page load times, and other highly important information. The intent of web users searching on their mobile devices will be different from the intent of those searching the web on their desktop. The same SERP principle applies. Most mobile web browsers are looking for something fast, such as where to get something, directions to a place, how to fix something or how to get a hold of someone. Google’s SERPs for them will be different from someone searching the web on their desktop.
Quality over Quantity
If you don’t know who your competition is, search for some of your most important keyword targets – sites that consistently rank well are the ones to take a look at. Real SEO is all about helping Google understand the content of your website. It’s about steering, guiding and assisting Google. Not manipulating it. Using hot keywords and search phrases is crucial to catching people using search engines, but crafted content shouldn’t look mechanical or read like a lecture. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant
: "99% of people don’t need any fancy tools or tactics. They just need to write the best content online for the topic they want to go after."
Don’t give up too soon
A good resource is more than just a long-form 1500 word blog post. It deep dives into topics and can stretch on for pages, combining data and insight that your audience would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Guest Blogging simply means
writing an article for another site. By doing this, not only will you be directing that site’s audience straight to your content, but you will also be generating an incredibly useful backlink. This is also a great way to increase your site’s reach and expand your audience, increasing your following and thus potential to build further backlinks and rank higher on Google. Google doesn’t want to deliver you “results” anymore, they want to deliver answers.
And the best answers don’t come from content farms, they come from websites that
are crafted with their visitors -- human beings -- in mind. Be informative. Above all else, ensure you have informative content. The most entertaining writing doesn’t make you an authority on much more than entertainment.
